Sensex ends 35 points downThe BSE benchmark Sensex ended up 34.62 points or 0.13% at 27,201.49, after having rallied to a high of 27,288.22 intraday. The Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange, which rose to 8361.95, closed at 8337.90, recording a gain of 1.95 points or 0.02%.

Nifty breaks 8300, Sensex falls 100 pts; Tata Motors gains 2% :-
Lupin and Tata Motors were top gainers in early trade, up 2 percent each followed by Sun Pharma, BHEL, Hero MotoCorp and Aurobindo Pharma while Tata Steel, ITC, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Idea Cellular and Bharti Infratel were losers.
Healthcare and FMCG stocks moved up. A few stocks from banking, consumer durables, power and realty sectors closed higher. Information technology stocks traded weak, while automobile, capital goods, metal and oil stocks turned in a mixed performance. Midcap and smallcap stocks were mostly subdued.

Lupin ended stronger by 7.8%. Dr Reddy's Laboratories moved up 2.7%, Cipla gained 2% and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries closed 0.7% up. Cadila Healthcare, Piramal Enterprises and GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals also closed on a firm note.

Today The Nifty ended tad below 2016 closing ahead of Brexit vote. The 50-share index is up 66.75 points or 0.8 percent at 8270.45. The Sensex was up 236.57 points or 0.9 percent at 27002.22. About 1093 shares have advanced, 1498 shares declined, and 183 shares are unchanged. 

Tata Motors, Dr Reddy's Labs, SBI, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank were top gainers while NTPC, Cipla, TCS, Asian Paints and ONGC were losers in the Sensex. Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Bharat Forge, Hindalco, Infosys, TCS and Tech Mahindra are the stocks that will get impacted by outcome of Britain's referendum. 

According to reports, Indian IT companies get anywhere from 6-18 percent of their revenues from the UK. The UK has traditionally been the gateway for Indian IT firms to enter Europe and they have set up a large presence in the UK to serve the EU markets from their headquarters in London. The United Kingdom is voting today on whether to remain in or leave the 28-nation European Union.

The market has opened strong following positive Asian cues. The Sensex is up 128.89 points or 0.5 percent at 25719.54 and the Nifty is up 44.35 points or 0.6 percent at 7830.45. About 469 shares have advanced, 82 shares declined, and 31 shares are unchanged. Tata Steel, Hindalco, Vedanta, Sun Pharma and GAIL are top gainers in the Sensex.


Buying was visible across the board. Metal stocks were among the top performers in the morning trades, the BSE Metal index advanced 1.6 per cent. Oil & gas, realty, pharma, capital goods, banking and IT indices were also quoting 0.7-1 per cent higher on the bourses.From the Nifty-50 basket of stocks, 47 stocks were gaining while only three were declining.

The S&P BSE Sensex surged over 100 points in morning trade on Tuesday following positive trend seen in other Asian markets. Day after Diwali, the market has opened on a tepid note. The Sensex has opened at 25647.03, down 219.92 points or 0.8 percent and the Nifty is at 7762.40, down 66 points or 0.8 percent. About 242 shares have advanced, 610 shares declined, and 43 shares are unchanged. Bharti Airtel, ONGC, ITC, Lupin and Vedanta are top laggards in the Sensex. Sun Pharma, Coal India, Axis Bank, Tata Motors and L&T are top gainers in the Sensex.


The selling pressure was broad-based with all the sectoral indices on the BSE trading in the red.Banking, IT, capital goods, and FMCG stocks led the decline today.Besides weak global markets, domestic stocks were impacted by rising prices for some food product pushed up India's retail inflation to a four-month high of 5 per cent in October.

The S&P BSE Sensex slipped over 200 points in morning trade on Friday, led by losses in HDFC, TCS, RIL, ITC, HDFC Bank, and Infosys.The Nifty50 broke below its crucial psychological support level of 7800, largely weighed down by losses in IT, capital goods, oil & gas, power and realty stocks. Britain and India welcomed more than 9 billion pounds($13.7 billion) in commercial deals during a visit by IndianPrime Minister Narendra Modi, but his arrival was overshadowed by protests over a perceived rise in intolerance back home.


Rising prices for some food products and firm demand during the festival season pushed up India's retail inflation to a four-month high in October, making it less likely the central bank will cut interest rates at its policy review next month.

The domestic equity market on Monday felt the aftershocks of a humiliating defeat for the BJP-led led NDA in the Bihar assembly election. A decisive victory for the rivals is likely to increase uncertainty over the NDA government’s reforms process.


The rupee slipped below the 66-level by tumbling 74 paise, or 1.11 per cent, at 66.50 against the US dollar in early trade today on strong demand for the American currency from banks and importers.


Gains in the dollar against major global currencies following surge in US jobs last month put pressure on the Indian unit, dealers said.Besides, a lower opening in domestic equity markets, weighed on the rupee, they added.The rupee had closed one paise lower at 65.76 against the US dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on Friday.

The market has opened on a flat note following mixed global cues. The Sensex fell 16.03 points to 27348.89 and the Nifty declined 5.95 points to 8269.10. After lower-than-expected earnings in previous four quarters and strong results by rival Infosys, TCS 's Q2FY16 numbers will be closely watched. Profit is expected to grow 6.5 percent to Rs 6,052.3 crore and revenue may increase 6.1 percent to Rs 27,230 crore on sequential basis, according to average of estimates of analysts polled by CNBC-TV18. 


Tata Consultancy Services will announce its quarterly earnings in evening on October 13. Dollar revenue growth may be 3.6 percent at USD 4,181 million in the quarter ended September 2015 and 4.2-4.3 percent in constant currency.
The near term domestic markets are likely to take cues from the second-quarter earnings season. IT major Infosys kicked off the Q2 earnings season yesterday.

Infosys on Monday delivered ahead of Street estimates for a second straight time, with profit, sales and dollar revenues beating expectations in the September quarter.


India's second biggest outsourcer reported a net profit of Rs 3,400 crore on sales of Rs 15,635 crore, while constant currency revenue jumped 6.9 per cent sequentially to $2,392 million.

The market starts with a bang on Tuesday, continuing its uptrend from yesterday. The Sensex is up 207.00 points or 0.8 percent at 26992.55 and the Nifty is up 61.15 points or 0.7 percent at 8180.45. About 516 shares have advanced, 70 shares declined, and 23 shares are unchanged.


Gains in domestic markets were also spurred by comments from the government officials that the economy remains strong and GDP growth will top 7.5 per cent this fiscal year.
The undertone of domestic markets remains positive after the bigger-than-expected rate cut from the Reserve Bank of India last week. RBI chief Raghuram Rajan has also signaled that central bank will be accommodative to the extent possible.
