The market has opened sharply lower following correction in global peers and crude oil prices. The Sensex fell 254.69 points or 1.04 percent to 24284.31 and the Nifty declined 82.80 points or 1.11 percent to 7372.75. ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, BHEL, ONGC, Cairn India, Vedanta, Idea Cellular and Bank of Baroda were down 2-2.5 percent while HUL gained over a percent.


The broader markets were also facing the heat of selling pressure. The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices slumped 1.5 per cent each.Asian shares sagged on Wednesday as oil prices sank again due to fading hopes of a deal to curb a global supply glut, prompting investor to seek shelter in safe-haven assets and lifting bonds and gold to multi-month highs.

The market has opened flat on Tuesday. The Sensex is up 1.03 points at 25736.93 and the Nifty is down 4.80 points at 7829.65. About 441 shares have advanced, 142 shares declined, and 45 shares are unchanged. Sun Pharma, Cipla, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Motors and Tata Steel are gainers while Infosys, ICICI Bank, ITC, Coal India and Maruti are losers in the Sensex.

Sun Pharma was among the top Nifty gainers, the stock rebounded from yesterday's fall and was up 1.4 per cent at Rs 765. Idea Cellular, Bosch, Punjab National Bank and HUL were also among the gainers.The broader markets were outperforming the benchmark indices. The BSE mid-cap index advanced 0.4 per cent and the small-cap index jumped 0.23 per cent.

The market has opened higher on Tuesday after weakness seen yesterday. The Sensex is up 110.16 points or 0.4 percent at 26669.31 and the Nifty is up 35.15 points or 0.4 percent at 8085.95. About 429 shares have advanced, 98 shares declined, and 23 shares are unchanged.


Gains were broad-based with all the sectoral indices, barring oil & gas, were in the positive territory. IT, metal, power and healthcare stocks outperformed with Vedanta, Hindalco, Power Grid, NTPC rising 1.5 per cent to 3 per cent. Among banking stocks, PNB, Bank of Baroda and SBI were up nearly 1 per cent. Another power stock, Adani Power, rose nearly 0.80 per cent ahead of its earnings announcement.

Infosys on Monday delivered ahead of Street estimates for a second straight time, with profit, sales and dollar revenues beating expectations in the September quarter.


India's second biggest outsourcer reported a net profit of Rs 3,400 crore on sales of Rs 15,635 crore, while constant currency revenue jumped 6.9 per cent sequentially to $2,392 million.

The market starts with a bang on Tuesday, continuing its uptrend from yesterday. The Sensex is up 207.00 points or 0.8 percent at 26992.55 and the Nifty is up 61.15 points or 0.7 percent at 8180.45. About 516 shares have advanced, 70 shares declined, and 23 shares are unchanged.


Gains in domestic markets were also spurred by comments from the government officials that the economy remains strong and GDP growth will top 7.5 per cent this fiscal year.
The undertone of domestic markets remains positive after the bigger-than-expected rate cut from the Reserve Bank of India last week. RBI chief Raghuram Rajan has also signaled that central bank will be accommodative to the extent possible.

The market has started off trade with a 1 percent fall on Tuesday following weakness in global peers and ahead of much awaited RBI policy. The Sensex fell 280.86 points to 25335.98 and the Nifty plunged 84 points to 7711.70. Vedanta, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Hindalco, Dr Reddy's Labs and Cairn India topped the selling list, down 2-4 percent.


 
The latest round of selloff in global markets has been triggered by weak China data which exacerbated slowdown concerns about the world's second biggest economy.

Domestic markets will also take cues from Reserve Bank of India's policy announcement later in the day.Rate sensitive stocks such as banking, auto and realty stocks came under pressure as investors avoided bets ahead of the RBI policy announcement. The benchmark index of banking stocks, Bank Nifty, fell nearly 1.7 per cent.

The S&P BSE Sensex rallied over 300 points on Friday, after the US Federal Reserve held off raising interest rates. The rally in the index was led by gains in HDFC, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Axis Bank, and HDFC Bank.The 50-share Nifty index reclaimed its crucial psychological level of 7950, supported by gains in banks, metal, FMCG, and realty stocks. 


India's rupee, stocks and bonds gained on Friday on rising expectations the Reserve Bank of India will have scope to cut key lending rate later this month now that the U.S. Federal Reserve has kept its interest rates unchanged.The Fed on Thursday cited worries about the global economy as a key factor compelling it to keep its monetary policy unchanged for now.


Traders had feared a rate hike on Thursday would have sparked volatility in emerging markets and kept the RBI from cutting the repo rate for a fourth time this year at its policy review on Sept. 29.

The market has opened marginally lower in early trade on profit booking after yesterday's rally. The Sensex declined 36.53 points to 25820.17 and the Nifty fell 20.40 points to 7851.85. About 361 shares have advanced, 292 shares declined, and 28 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
The government on Monday imposed a 20 per cent safeguard import tax on some steel products with immediate effect. This is likely to bring steel stocks like Tata Steel and JSW steel in focus.


Analysts also remain worried over selling from foreign investors though it has eased in recent sessions. Foreign investors sold a record Rs 16,877 crore worth of domestic stocks in August. The S&P BSE Sensex plunged as much as 165 points in trade on Wednesday, led by losses in HDFC, ICICI Bank, ITC, Tata Motors and Coal India Ltd. The 50-share Nifty index slipped below its crucial psychological level of 8450 and was trading around its next support level of 8400, weighed down by losses in metal, consumer durable, metals, FMCG and power stocks. 


The Indian rupee dropped sharply on Wednesday to touch its weakest level against the dollar since 2013, as China's move to devalue the yuan sparked fears of a global currency war.
The partially convertible rupee weakened to as much as 64.66 per dollar shortly after trading opened, its weakest level since September 2013, when the country was in the midst of its worst currency turmoil since the 1991 balance of payment crisis.


The rupee was trading at 64.65/66 per dollar by 0337 GMT, weaker than its 64.19/20 close on Tuesday.Selling pressure was visible across the board barring few pharma stocks. Barring Tata Steel, other metal stocks were facing the heat of selling pressure.

The BSE Sensex climbed over 250 points in opening trades and was ruling above 27,800-mark. Local equity market is likely to trade sideways today and will take cues from global markets for further directions. Strength in dollar will keep rupee under pressure.Today being the last trading day of the week, investors are expected to trade cautiously and square off their position ahead of the weekend. Range for the day is seen between 63.70-64.40/dollar.


India's largest private sector lender will report its first quarter numbers later in the day. Analysts polled by NDTV expect the bank to post net interest income of Rs 5,140 crore compared to Rs 4,491 crore during the same period last year.

Shares of IT major Infosys gained 8.97 per cent in intraday trade on Tuesday. The company reported a 1.97 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 3,030 crore for the June quarter. The IT firm had reported a net profit of Rs 3,091 crore in the preceding quarter. 


Shares in India's Sun Pharmaceutical Industries slumped 16 percent, heading towards their biggest daily fall ever, after the drugmaker on Monday said it sees 2016 sales flat at best.
Analysts say results warning can cut FY16 consensus earnings estimates by 8-10 percent as company struggles to fix manufacturing problems at Ranbaxy Laboratories, which it bought last year. 


The market has slipped into red. The Sensex is down 51.61 points at 28368.51, and the Nifty is down 13.40 points at 8590.05. About 695 shares have advanced, 574 shares declined, and 90 shares are unchanged.

The S&P BSE Sensex surged over 100 points in trade on Friday despite muted trend seen in other Asian markets. The rally in the index was led by gains in Lupin, Sun Pharma, M&M, Bajaj Auto and ONGC.

$21 billion in annual outlays on the benefits by eliminating fraud, a senior finance ministry official said on
Thursday.
India services PMI to be released at 10:30 a.m. (0500 GMT).Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Minister for Rural Development Birender Singh will release the New Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) at 10.30 a.m.India foreign exchange reserves to be released at 1130 GMT.


The market has opened flat as the Sensex is up 37.59 points at 27983.39 and the Nifty is down 4.80 points at 8440.10. About 372 shares have advanced, 141 shares declined, and 75 shares are unchanged. ONGC, Lupin, HDFC, Tata Steel and BHEL are top gainers in the Sensex while Dr Reddy's, NTPC, TCS, Axis Bank and HUL are among major losers.

Going forward the prediction on rains for July, Aug, Sep are not so encouraging and is a cause for worry and  politics is likely to derail monsoon session of the Parliament.
