Nifty settles above 7,150: Stock Market Closing News

The BSE Sensex opened at 23,536, touched an intra-day high of 23,735 and low of 22,481. It finally ended with a gain of 267 points at 23,649.

 

The NSE Nifty opened at 7,177 hitting a high of 7,215 and low of 7,128, before ending with a gain of 83 points at 7,192.  

 

The India VIX (Volatility) index was down 2.61% to 21.5525. In broader market with the benchmark indices with the BSE midcap and smallcap indices closed up by 0.63% and 0.59%, respectively.

Hindalco, Dr.Reddy's, Cairn India, ONGC, Hero MotoCorp, ACC, ZEEL, Wipro and ICICI Bank were among the gainers on NSE, whereas Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints, BHEL, RIL, Axis Bank, Adani Ports, Yes Bank and Idea Cellular were among the losers today.

Out of 1,790 stocks traded on the NSE, 635 declined and 883 advanced today.

 

A total of seven stock registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 35 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 134.1 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 136 and Rs. 133.5 respectively. So far 120196(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 564.09 crore.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 182.4 on 06-Jan-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 102.4 on 27-Mar-2015. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 145 and Rs. 123.2 respectively.

 

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.32 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.16 % and 36.52 % respectively.

The stock is currently trading above its 50 DMA.

The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 23,624 down by 135 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 7,174 down 42 points.

The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down by 0.64% at 9,954. whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading down by 0.45% at 10,231.

The INDIA VIX is up by 1.41% at 22.7825. Out of 1,741 stocks traded on the NSE, 906 declined, 307 advanced and 235 remained unchanged today.

A total of three stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while 73 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

Indian Rupee opened weaker by 10 paise at 67.95/$ in early trade on Thursday as against the previous close of 67.85/$.

Asian markets are playing catch up on the downside as they opened after a break.
