Most Trending Stocks: Nifty nears 7800

The stock market has kickstarted the week on a solid note bolstered by file heavyweights. The Sensex is up 187.26 focuses at 25415.76, and the Nifty up 50.75 focuses at 7784.20. Around 554 shares have progressed, 193 shares declined, and 45 shares are unaltered. Hindalco, Tata Steel, ITC, HDFC and NTPC are top gainers while Dr Reddy's Labs fell more than 1 percent.

The Indian rupee opened insignificantly higher at 66.52 for every dollar on Monday versus 66.55 
 Friday. 

Asian stocks open mixed, as oil prices rallied on supply outages in Canada and amid surprise over the exit of Saudi Arabia's veteran oil minister Ali al-Naimi.

The Indian IT infrastructure market will increase marginally to USD 1.93 billion this year whereas by 2020, it is likely to grow to USD 2.13 billion, Gartner said today.

Stock Market Morning Opening Trends

Nifty started May Future and Option (FnO) on a slight note. Nifty started below 7850.

  • 50 shares of index fall 4.85 points and Sensex is down 28.37 points.

  • 244 stocks progressed, 143 stocks declined and 36 stocks are unmoved.

To gainers list of the sensex: Tata Steel, ONGC, Infosys, Hindalco and Cipla.

Currency updates: Indian rupee opened higher at 66.48 per dollar on Friday.

Top loser list of the sensex: ICICI Bank, M&M, TCS, Axis Bank and Bajaj Auto.

Stock Market News Today


Closing bell: The BSE Sensex finished with an increase of 36 focuses at 25,880. The BSE Sensex opened at 25,980 touched an intra-day high of 26,080 and low of 25,783.

The NSE Nifty shut with lost negligible three focuses at 7,912. The NSE Nifty opened at 7,954 hitting a high of 7,978 and low of 7,884.


The banking, finance, oil and gas, metal and pharma were among the top gainers. On the other hand, realty, IT, capital goods, teck and utilities stocks ended with losses.

The market has opened strong riding high on global markets. The Sensex is up 121.41 points at 25965.59, and the Nifty is up 41.60 points or at 7956.35.

The 50-share index is at 2016 high, crossing January 1 high 7972. About 401 shares have progressed, 77 shares declined, and 22 shares are unchanged.

ICICI Bank is up 6 percent while SBI, Tata Steel, Axis Bank and GAIL are top gainers. Wipro falls 5 percent.

The Indian rupee opened lower by 10 paise at 66.32 for each dollar against past close of 66.22. Dollar edged up against a basket of major currencies. Euro flat ahead of the ECB meet today.

Wall Street ended less than 2 percent short of a record-high close on Wednesday as a rebound in oil prices added to optimism sparked by a raft of earnings reports. Driven 15 percent higher since mid-February by a recovery in weak oil prices and helped by a softer dollar, the S&P 500 stood less than 30 points below last May's all-time peak.

Closing bell:
The Indian stock market closed for the second consecutive session on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 123 points at 25,145. The BSE Sensex opened at 25,056 touched an intra-day high of 25,180 and low of 24,996.

The NSE Nifty closed with a gain of 38 points at 7,708. The NSE Nifty opened at 7,669 hitting a high of 7,717 and low of 7,663.
 
GAIL, Maruti Suzuki, Tata MotorsDVR, Tata Motors, ZEEL, Hero MotoCorp, Aurobindo Pharma and Dr Reddy's were among the gainers on NSE, whereas Coal India, Tata Steel, Idea Cellular, ITC, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Bank, SBI and HCL Tech were among the losers today.

Out of 1,801 stocks traded on the NSE, 621 declined and 926 advanced today.

A total of 32 stock registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, whereas 11 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.

The Indian Rupee was trading down by 4 paise at 66.46 per US dollar.

Shares of Nestle India hopped more than 5 percent intraday after its well known noodles brand cleared tests directed by Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI). CFTRI has given a perfect chit to Nestle's Maggi after tests under Supreme Court mandate. 

The market continued to be marginally higher in morning exchange with the Sensex rising 78.91 focuses to 25101.07 and the Nifty climbing 23.50 focuses to 7694.90. Pharma, banking and financials, auto and oil and gas stocks picked up while metals stocks lost sparkle. 

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices beat, ascending more than 0.7 percent as more than two shares progressed for each share declining on Bombay Stock Exchange. 

ICICI Bank, Lupin, Hero Motocorp, Dr Reddy's Labs and Maruti Suzuki picked up 1-2 percent while Adani Ports, Bharti Airtel, Coal India and Tata Steel declined 1-1.5 percent.
