The NSE Nifty closed with a loss of 43 points at 6,987. The NSE Nifty opened at 7,050 hitting a high of 7,095 and low of 6,825. The losses in IT, capital goods, consumer durables, oil and gas, power and telecom counters weighed on the index.
Finally BSE Sensex ended with a loss of 152 points at 23,002 . The BSE
Sensex opened at 23,239, touched an intra-day high of 23,343 and low of
22,495.
The broader market traded in line with benchmark indices with the BSE midcap and BSE smallcap indices closed on a mixed note.
