Nikkei 225 Average rose 0.73 percent or 117.52 points at 16,127.51.
Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.26 percent or 8.12 points at 3,135.41.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was up 0.10 percent or 8.68 points at 8,476.44.
China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.34 percent or 7.26 points at 2,099.10.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shut today.
