Tata Steel is getting ready to commence "integrated, commercial production" of the first phase of the 3-million tonne steel plant in Odisha by September and is keen to keep the project cost below the projected Rs 25,000 crore.  

"Integrated commissioning of all units for the first phase will take another six months. Project cost remains within the revised budget and even it could (be) lower," Tata Steel V-P Operations (Odisha) Rajiv Kumar said.

On March 11, 2016, at 09:59 hrs Tata Steel was quoting at Rs 295.10, down Rs 1.05, or 0.35 percent. The 52-week high of the share was Rs 384.20 and the 52-week low was Rs 200.00.  

The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 51.88 per share as per the quarter ended December 2015. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 5.69. The latest book value of the company is Rs 686.39 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company is 0.43.
