Asian shares rebounded on
bargain-hunting early Thursday, overcoming mixed signals from Wall
Street overnight. Investors were also awaiting a raft of economic data
from China.
On Wednesday, stocks in the region saw steep declines as copper
slid to a near four-year low after recent economic reports from China
indicated slowing growth.
The nation’s first bond default in at least 17 years last week also
had investors questioning the possibility of the industrial metal being
used as collateral.
US stocks were little changed on Wednesday as investors mulled over the global economic climate and tracked events in Ukraine.
