Equity Trading Tips with Sun Pharma Stock Price

Drug major Sun Pharma has forayed into the Japanese prescription market by acquiring 14 brands from Swiss drug firm Novartis for USD 293 million (over Rs 1,940 crore). 



According to the agreements signed by the parties, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sun Pharma will acquire the portfolio consisting of 14 established prescription brands from Novartis for a cash consideration of USD 293 million, Sun Pharma said in a statement. 

Sun Pharma Stock Price: On March 29, 2016, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries closed at Rs 794.05, up Rs 0.00, or 0.00 percent. The 52-week high of the share was Rs 1200.70 and the 52-week low was Rs 706.40. 

The latest book value of the company is Rs 94.62 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company was 8.39.

 Equity Market Closing Bell:

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty snapped four -day winning streak on Monday. Finally BSE Sensex ended with a loss of 371 points at 24,966. The BSE Sensex opened at 25,417, touched an intra-day high of 25,433 and low of 24,895.

The NSE Nifty closed with a loss of 101 points at 7,615. The NSE Nifty opened at 7,741 hitting a high of 7,749 and low of 7,588. The losses in realty, metals, consumer durables, telecom, pharma,  counters weighed on the index.

Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bosch, Power Grid, NTPC, Ambuja Cement were among the gainers on NSE, whereas Vedanta, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma and SBI were among the losers today.

On the global front, China’s Shanghai Composite Index closed down by 0.73% and Hang Seng slipped 1.3%.

The European stock markets are closed for the Easter Monday holiday.

The Indian Rupee was trading up by 6 paise at 66.58 per US dollar.

NALCO was down by 2% at Rs. 37. The company had been allotted Utkal-D & E coal blocks, near the company's Captive Power Plant in Angul district of Odisha, as per a report.

The scrip opened at Rs. 38.6 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 39.55 and Rs. 37.85 respectively. So far 199912(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9948.15 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 80.93 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.45 % and 6.62 % respectively.

The stock is currently trading below its 200 DMA.

Live Equity Market Updates: Nifty hovers around 7700

Equity benchmarks were marginally under pressure in morning trade with the Sensex falling 61.04 points to 25276.52. The Nifty declined 18.25 points to 7698.25, dragged by banking & financials, pharma, FMCG and capital goods stocks. 

The broader markets too were down 0.4 percent on weak market breadth. About 934 shares declined against 800 advancing shares on Bombay Stock Exchange.

Shares of HDFC, Sun Pharma, ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel topped selling list on Sensex, down 1-3 percent while TCS and Adani Ports gained over a percent.
